My Glowy, Summer Beauty Favs

Summer break is near, and I cannot wait to incorporate some beauty holy grails into my everyday look.

Holy grails are the pretty much the things that I’m loving, and that make the everyday a little more special. I’m sharing my favorite beauty + skin essentials.

Better Than Sex Mascara

Waterproof. $13 at Sephora.

I’m always on the hunt for a quality mascara. I have naturally curly lashes, and sometimes it’s difficult to layer mascara without it being super clumpy. The waterproof version of BTS mascara is ideal for the Tampa heat to avoid extra smudging. I like this mascara because it lengthens and thickens my lashes. Brava, to an extra pop. Also, I may have gotten the waterproof version instead of the regular, because of the aesthetic teardrop packaging. Ha, it reminded me of the song Crybaby by The Neighbourhood.

Fenty Killawat Freestyler Highlight

In shade: Afternoon Snack & Mo’ Hunny. $36. Sephora & Fenty Beauty online.

Highlighting is critical. They say contouring brings dimension to a makeup look, but highlighting really accentuates the natural high points on your face to another level. I’ve been loving Fenty’s freestyler highlight. I love highlighting with both sides. I highlight my temples, under the arch of my brow, cheekbones and the slope of my nose. I highlight the center of my bridge and ball of my nose. I like the rosy pinky color of the highlight a lot.

Milani Baked Bronzer

Under $10. Drugstores.

I’ve been using the Milani baked bronzer since my freshmen year in college—and it’s still a holy grail. It’s great to layer over contour, or solely used as a contour. I like creme contour, but the Milani baked bronzer is good for day-time and a natural bronzed look. It doesn’t look muddy or too much. There’s gold specks in it, so it adds warmth. I use the bronzer on my forehead, under my cheekbones, lightly on the sides of my nose and my jawline. I really like using a small brush, dipping it in the bronzer and lightly tracing the sides of my nose in a curved motion up to the curve of my lid. I also create a light box, following the round tip of my nose to complement the shape. It’s a lot more natural and cutesy, than having harsh, thick lines down your nose. This bronzer is a winner.

Hisbiscus Paradise Oil

$18.50. Bath & Body Works

Hisbiscus Paradise Oil

This oil is very shimmery and has a good build and consistency, so you don’t have to use too much. I want to feel like a goddess every time I step out, so I definitely use it all the time. It can be hard to find a reasonably priced shimmery body oil, so I’m glad I got this during Bath & Body Works’ seasonal sale. This body oil has a nice natural sheen. A total keeper. I hope B&BW continues this oil, or at least incorporates more body oils with shimmer.
