Citrus Ginger Juice Recipe
If you love lemony ginger shots, you're going to love this anti-inflammatory citrus ginger juice! This juice features the zesty flavors of lemon, grapefruit, and your choice of either tangerine or orange juice. We chose to use Natalie OJ’s fresh tangerine juice, for a smooth base, but you can always sub the tangerine or orange juice for a peeled tangerine or orange. Add a kick of cayenne pepper, black pepper, and spicy ginger, and you have major key ingredients of a ginger shot.
This juice is ideal if you are feeling a little congested or under the weather. Maybe you want a natural juice with healing agents before a busy, occupied week ahead. If you’re constantly in between meetings, work commutes, travel, and movement-focused classes, you are going to want a refreshing, natural tonic.
The ginger in this recipe has a rich antioxidant profile that helps with digestion, bloating, and joint/body pain. When you add black pepper to this juice, you also help boost the absorption and potency of ginger. While this juice is naturally sweet from the grapefruit and tangerine, the ginger, lemon, and both cayenne and black pepper make it spicy and intensified. Cayenne pepper contains capsaicin which is explains its spicy heat profile. Capsaicin raises your body’s core temp, helps with swelling and soreness. Try drinking this juice after your next hot yoga, or sauna session to open up your airways, and release the toxins and inflammation in your body.
