Beet Juice Recipe
Juicing at home has been one of my favorite pastimes over the past year. Whenever I juice, I make a large batch so I have fresh juices ready throughout the week. I like juicing at home for two reasons. First and foremost, I truly enjoy sharing a fresh juice or two with my sister. With each serving of juice you are getting a concentrated dose of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. I love spreading good health in my household. Secondly, I look forward to the visually appealing aspect of juicing. Presentation matters—especially if it positively influences you to be more wellness-focused. I store my juices reusable glass bottles. Not only are glass bottles environmentally safe, they also preserve the freshness of the juice. My love for fresh juices began as a child. My mom introduced me to the vibrant world of juicing and blending fruits & vegetables when I was in grade school. Having a healthy juice or smoothie after school became the norm. By the time I was a teenager, I made my own juices and smoothies, in the comfort of my home. I would blend spinach, frozen pineapples and mango. It’s such a refreshing drink, and a great way to ensure that you’re getting a healthy dose of fiber & immunity support.
In college, I worked as an event and marketing coordinator for a health food store and juice bar. A few weeks into working, I would order a juice to start off my day. For months I would order the turmeric sunrise: a healthy mix of carrots, ginger, and of course, turmeric.
One morning, I decided to try something new. The juice bar manager recommended the ‘Red Warrior’: a powerful combination of organic beets, carrots, red apples, ginger, celery, cucumber, and lemon. Since then, I have enjoyed adding beets to my smoothies and juices. Beets are one of the top superfoods. They’re rich in folate, minerals, and fiber. Personally, I think they’re pretty tasty.
Last year, I was on the hunt for an affordable, durable juicer so I could make fresh juices in the comfort of my home. Juicing has many healing benefits and there are countless recipes to try. The thought of being able to drink healthy juices throughout the week sealed the deal for me, so I started looking online and in person for a juice extractor.
As you can imagine, there are dozens of high-grade, super sleek, chic juicers out there, upwards of $200 & more. A trip to Williams Sonoma verified such. So, I went to Target. Low and behold, there was the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juice Extractor. The price was right. The reviews were favorable. I was sold.
I’ve been using this juicer for over a year now. It makes juicing at home quick and efficient. The juicer is very easy to assemble. It takes less than a minute to set up. Cleaning is hassle-free as well. The juicer comes with a cleaning brush with sturdy bristles that flawlessly cleans the pulp catcher on the juicer. I recommend cleaning the juicer immediately after you use it, to avoid any staining.
I find that the Hamilton Beach Juice Extractor extracts citrus fruit (lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit) well, with minimal pulp.
My favorite at-home juicing recipe is very simple. Three ingredients. Guaranteed flavor bomb. My grapefruit-carrot-beet combo does the body right. It’s loaded in antioxidants, high in Vitamin C, and has anti-inflammatory agents.
