Nourishing Green Smoothie Recipe
Sip your way to clear, glowing skin with this at-home green smoothie. Green smoothies are detoxifying and rich in fiber, which are essential for both your immunity and gut health. This recipe calls for fresh ginger. Ginger contains natural antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents. Adding a piece of ginger in your smoothie not only enhances the overall taste, but it also helps protect your body from congestion, helps with your digestion, and soothes inflammation.
Drinking green smoothies is a ritual in my family. At a young early age, my mom introduced my sister and I to a variety of green smoothie and green juice recipes. By the time I was in high school, I would religiously make a green smoothie every day after school. When I started The Visionary Boss in 2016, I shared a lot of wellness-focused, day-in-my-life content on my social media. It was routine for me to include my daily green smoothie. I still have the videos of me blending up spinach, apples, and carrots, with my indie alternative playlist blasting in the background. I would caption my video with a thought-provoking quote, or introspective paragraph, reflecting on my days as a college student. Friends would message me, inquiring about what ingredients I used in my smoothie. Many of them were surprised to find out that my smoothie was easy to make, and equally delicious.
All you need are few ingredients, and a high-powered blender.
Ingredients
1 cup of spinach
1 apple
2-3 medium-sized carrots
1/2 inch of ginger
1/2 lemon or lime
Instructions
Add contents into a high-powered blender, blending until well-combined.
