The Tampa Art Museum & Armature Works

Happy weekend, my loves! I hope 2019 has been treating you all well, and keeping you motivated, proactive and most of all, passionate. I just finished my first week of my Spring semester of junior year. It went exceptionally well. So, while I’m studying & working throughout the week, I’m ensuring that I do at least one thing for myself on the weekends. I decided to treat myself to ramen from Ichicoro at Armature and a trip to the Tampa Art Museum.

I visited the very much anticipated LOVE IS CALLING exhibit. It was very dreamy and I was definitely in a trance visiting the multi-colored, neon 3D exhibit. The mirrored, psychedelic exhibit closes on Feb 14th, so be sure to make a trip to the Tampa Art Museum ASAP. Students who show a form of ID get free entry to the museum, which makes for a fun trip or laid-back meet-up with friends. Without a doubt, I’m visiting this exhibit again. The eccentric colors and abstractness makes me feel like I’m in a lulling, whimsical scene of a movie or Netflix original.

(That’s magic) in a camo print coat.

I also posed with Aphrodite. There’s just something about taking photos with statues, and giving your best Mona Lisa smile. If you’re in an artsy mood, want to read up on art and be culturally-inspired, plan a trip to the Tampa Art Museum!

Armature Works

After many, many photos and strolling along Curtis Hixon Park, my friends and I headed to Armature Works. If you’re in Tampa, I’m sure you’ve already explored the dynamic, high-ceilinged market place with tons of eateries and bars. But, there’s always something new about it every time you visit. I got there a little before noon and the January sun surely warmed up the inside of the Heights Public Market. This will definitely be my new study spot this semester.

Pure usual, I was having a major ramen craving this week. I got my fix at Ichicoro Imoto, a contemporary, mod-casual ramen bar. Their chicken paitan never disappoints. It’s soulful, so filling and has just the right amount of ingredients. The broth and noodles are easily a 10/10 in my book. Plus, the bamboo shoots and pickled ginger adds texture.

I also tried my friend’s nachos from Butcher n Barbecue. Their brisket nachos are packed with cheesy goodness, corn salsa and lots of meat. The first crunchy, mouthwatering bite had me like: WOW.

BnB has everything from Korean Philly, grass-fed burgers to smoked meats. I will definitely have to order a tray of brisket nachos and lounge on Armature’s patio during my next visit.

My first Friday in 2019 was dreamy, delicious and simply great. I have the Tampa Art Museum and all the goodies from Armature to thank for that.
