Sushi Alive

I went to Westchase’s premier sushi spot: Sushi Alive. Honestly, they’re one of my top favorite sushi raw bars in Tampa, because their flavor and freshness is unmatched. I’ve never had an average experience!

The Vibe

As you enter Sushi Alive, you immediately feel a relaxed, yet upscale vibe. I enjoy sitting inside, but their covered deck and patio is too picturesque to pass up. It was a little girls’ night out for me, the madre and my sister. We sat at a high-rise, dark wood table and enjoyed the cozy views of the patio’s outdoor fire pit and champagne-colored hanging bulb lights.

The Food

In typical fashion, I ordered their Far East chicken wings. Always delicious. The exterior is crunchy and savory, and the inside is juicy. The cream lime chili sauce adds dimension and tons of flavor….and the best part is that they’re half off during Sushi Alive’s 8p-10p happy hour.

I also ordered their Volcano roll. Ohmygod, its so worth the half-hour drive. The lightly blazed crab on top of the roll adds texture in every bite. The roll has just the right amount of sweet and tangy. The eel sauce nicely complements the roll, without being too much. There’s also something about the cream cheese that makes this roll pretty rememberable. Overall, its my favorite tied with the Godzilla roll.

My verdict for Sushi Alive is a strong YES! I am super fond of Asian bistros/sushi and this restaurant just does it for me. It’s always a great time with mouthwatering, fresh sushi.

I can easily sum up Sushi Alive in three words. Fresh, piquant & lively!
