Brandon Flowers, frontman for The Killers put on a stellar show for the Orlando leg of the Imploding The Mirage Tour. Styled in Ray Brown, (custom stage wear for celebrity rock musicians, including Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkey), Flowers was dressed with the intent to deliver a polished, posh night of deep cuts and popular hits. Keeping it classy, confident and assured, he owned the stage, offering an energetic presence that kept the audience pumped and inspired throughout the entire night.
This was a concert that was coordinated and planned to precision, from the multiple showy confetti canons, to the glimmery show-stopping pyrotechnic effects. The visuals did not disappoint. The swell of smoke and the flashing of a digitalized ‘Welcome to Las Vegas’ sign was both haunting, and riveting, making the perfect transition for “Somebody Told Me” from the Hot Fuss album. It was definitely one of my favorite moments from the night, including “Human.”
“All The Things I’ve Done” was another certified concert sing-along. The deep purple, violet, indigo and fuchsia lighting put the audience in a dreamy, nostalgic state of mind. The sea of purple bled into a bright red for the unforgettable closing of “Mr. Brightside.” The entire crowd sung along with such yearning and intensity, as if they witnessed their own boyfriend or girlfriend at a Las Vegas bar with someone else.
